Neck, back, joint and muscle care in Orangeville, ON

Most people arrive knowing where it hurts, not which appointment to book. This page helps you pick a sensible starting point — and is honest about when you should see someone other than us first.

Common concerns we see

Choose the area that matches yours. Nothing here is a diagnosis — it is a description of what each appointment does in that part of the body, so you can pick a sensible starting point.

Neck & shoulders

Tightness across the top of the shoulders and up into the neck. People often mention desk work, driving, or carrying a bag on one side.

How we can help

  • Registered Massage Therapy

Hands-on treatment through the shoulders, the base of the neck and the muscles around the shoulder blades. Your therapist assesses first, and the pressure is yours to direct throughout.

    Book
  • Physiotherapy

An assessment of how your neck and shoulder move and what is loading them, then hands-on work and a small set of exercises you take away with you.

    Book
  • Acupuncture

A full history first, then fine, sterile, single-use needles at selected points. Cupping is sometimes combined with it. Booked by people who want to try a needle-based approach.

Our approach

How Blossom approaches neck, back and joint concerns

Four disciplines work in the same clinic on Dawson Road, which means the assessment can point you somewhere else in the building rather than out of it. Nobody here is required to keep you in their own discipline.

  1. Listen

Where it is, how long it has been there, what makes it better or worse, and what you need to get back to.

  2. Assess

Movement and the structures involved, to work out what is contributing rather than only where you feel it.

  3. Plan across disciplines

You are told what is proposed before anything begins, and you decide. If another route would serve you better, we say so.

Which treatment is right for me?

Each row is an appointment listed on our booking page. Fees and lengths come from the clinic’s price list; where a service is not on that list, no figure is shown here.

Practicalities

Your first appointment

  1. Book

Choose a time in Jane, or send an inquiry from the homepage if you want to describe it in a sentence first. No referral is needed to book with us.

  2. What to wear

Comfortable clothing you can move in is best. Your practitioner will share any specific guidance for your treatment when you book.

  3. Assessment, then treatment

Most initial appointments include an assessment followed by treatment or an appropriate therapeutic intervention. Your practitioner will explain the process and tailor the appointment to your needs and goals.

  4. Receipts

We provide receipts for eligible regulated services that you can submit to your extended-health provider. Direct billing is not currently available.

If you need to change it

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged the treatment fee. Please let us know as early as possible if you are unwell or have an emergency.

Safety

When we are not the right first stop

Please speak to a physician or go to urgent care first if any of these apply. We would rather send you to the right place than take the appointment.

Please get medical advice before booking if

  • The pain came on after a fall, collision or other significant injury
  • You have numbness, pins and needles, or weakness in a limb
  • You have lost control of your bladder or bowel
  • The pain is severe, unrelenting, or wakes you every night
  • You feel unwell alongside the pain — fever, chills or unexplained weight loss
  • A joint is hot, swollen and red, or you cannot bear weight on it

If any of these apply, contact your physician or go to your nearest emergency department. In an emergency call 9-1-1. Do not wait for a reply from us.

Questions

Questions about neck, back and joint appointments

Which should I book first — massage or physiotherapy?
If you have a specific injury, a joint that feels unreliable, or you are recovering from surgery, physiotherapy is assessment-led and sends you away with exercises, and sends you away with exercises. If it is muscular tightness you want worked on, massage therapy is the more direct route. If you are genuinely unsure, send us an inquiry and describe it in a sentence — we would rather point you to the right appointment than have you book the wrong one.
Do I need a referral?
Not to book with us. Some extended-health plans require a referral before they will reimburse, so it is worth checking your own plan first.
Can I have more than one kind of appointment?
Yes, and plenty of people do. Tell each practitioner what else you are having so they can plan around it.
Will my insurance cover this?
Massage therapy, physiotherapy and acupuncture are usually separate categories on an extended-health plan, and some plans cover one and not another. We do not offer direct billing — we provide receipts you submit yourself. Please confirm the details with your own plan.
How many appointments will I need?
That depends on what assessment finds and how you respond. Your practitioner will give you a realistic view after the first appointment. We do not sell fixed courses.
How do I book an assessment?
You can book online any time through our Jane booking system, or send us a message with the inquiry form on the homepage. The Book buttons on this page open the matching appointment type in Jane directly.
Is there parking at the clinic?
Blossom Wellness Clinic is at 20 Dawson Rd, Unit 6, Orangeville, Ontario, L9W 2W3. Free parking is available directly outside the clinic.
